The Senior Accountant will be a critical part of the NRT accounting team and ensuring the accounting department’s overriding goals of accuracy and providing timely, relevant information are achieved.

This person will be a proactive member of the accounting team and will look to help drive operational efficiencies while maintaining a strong control environment.  He/she will collaborate across several groups of the business to support both short and long-term business objectives and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Train, mentor, supervise and evaluate the performance of one or two staff accountants. The Senior Accountant reviews and posts the submission of journal entries by the Staff Accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance of internal policies. The Senior Accountant also reviews the monthly account reconciliations for completeness and accuracy.
  • Responsible for financial close activities including month-end journal entries and recording accruals as appropriate
  • Coordinate with various departments/stakeholders to obtain the necessary support required to book journal entries timely
  • Ensure accounting and finance activities are compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal policies and procedures
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis to share with stakeholders for key accounts
  • Proactively raise issues to Management regarding financial or operational metrics
  • Respond to a variety of ad hoc projects as they arise
  • Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or higher in Accounting
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • 4-6 years of accounting/finance or related experience
  • CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
  • Prior auditing experience is preferred
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with limited supervision
  • Possess strong task management, attention to detail and prioritization skills
  • Ability to follow through on all assigned tasks and take on additional work as needed
