We are currently looking for a Senior Business Consultant to support our Coldwell Banker Commercial® brokers throughout the United States.  This position is remote/ field-based and the ideal candidate will reside in Chicago or Dallas; however, we will consider candidates from other locations.


As the Senior Business Consultant (SBC) you will help commercial real estate entrepreneurs leverage the Coldwell Banker Commercial brand to drive growth. The SBC will be responsible for servicing, consulting with and growing a book of business consisting of approximately 20 - 30 Coldwell Banker Commercial® Affiliate companies.



  • Liaise with Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliates and Coldwell Banker Real Estate, LLC to keep companies up- to-date on industry trends, corporate initiatives, technology trends, etc.
  • Coordinate with the internal teams to successfully "orient" all new affiliates and/or new company offices in the system, meeting all renewal targets, working with brokers/managers to develop strategies to increase overall profitability and assist individual companies with their customized business objectives.
  • Proactively consult (on a one-on-one basis) with each commercial real estate company to ensure their commercial real estate business is well-positioned for sustained growth and profitability.

  • Superior presentation skills ; and the ability to develop and deliver mini seminars both live and via web-ex
  • Demonstrated client focused capabilities
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis on Excel®
  • Understanding of financial analysis, reviewing P&L’s and balance sheets


The Senior Business Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Consulting with  and servicing targeted companies to grow their commercial real estate business
  • Resource management to understand customized business needs and successfully utilize subject matter experts as necessary within Coldwell Banker Commercial and Coldwell Banker, LLC
  • Successfully supporting initial transitions of new companies, in collaboration with internal renewal and Seller Strategy teams.
  • Ensuring franchisees are fully leveraging optimum business fundamentals, training and development options, marketing and basic commercial real estate operations.
  • Ensuring accountability through a heavy emphasis on business planning, recruiting, growth plans and measurable Action Plans
  • Guiding and assisting member brokers in developing profit plans, setting and achieving income and expense targets
  • Setting goals, managing activities, monitoring results and providing feedback to brokers through various communication vehicles such as email, reporting, newsletters, etc.
  • Focusing on the identification of broker candidates for mergers and acquisitions and facilitate process to completion using appropriate in-house resources (i.e. franchise sales, legal, etc.)
  • Identifying specific commercial real estate education/training needs and connect affiliate with appropriate resources to provide education/training to member brokers and their sales associates
  • Improving  broker transaction reporting and transaction payment compliance, if applicable.
  • Collaborating with CBRE team members to facilitate the renewal of member firms, by taking a lead role, well in advance of expiration dates


Your Background Includes:

  • B.S./B.A. is preferred
  • 6+ years of commercial real estate experience. Will consider someone with 10+ years of experience that includes a mix of commercial and residential real estate.
  • Demonstrated experience of driving performance improvement within a real estate organization.
  • Operations and/ or sales and/ or account management experience (real estate ownership management a plus)
  • Knowledge of the commercial real estate industry and ability to speak on all product sectors
  • Candidate must reside within one-hour drive of a major airport
  • Ability to set goals, targets and objectives and to facilitate and measure results
  • Territory management experience is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated apititude to work callaboratively with others from diverse backgrounds, cultures and viewpoints
